17-year-old American violinist Kevin Zhu has been awarded First Prize at the 2018 Paganini International Violin Competition in Genoa, Italy. A student of Itzhak Perlman and Li Lin at the Juilliard School Pre-College Division, Kevin is known as winner in the Junior Division of the 2012 Menuhin Competition, when he was just 11.

The Second Prize in the Paganini Competition was awarded to 25-year-old Fedor Rudin from France. 22-year-old Stephen Kim from the United States went third.

The special prize for the best performance of a Paganini caprice was also awarded to Kevin Zhu, while Fedor Rudin won the Audience Prize.
