Juan Perez Floristan

The 28-year-old Spanish pianist Juan Perez Floristan has won the Arthur Rubinstein Competition in Tel Alviv. In addition to the Gold Medal, Floristan was awarded four special prizes: Best performance of an Israeli piece, Best performance of a Beethoven Concerto, Best Chamber Music performance, Audience favorite.

Floristan was first taught by his mother Maria Floristan, and later by Galina Eguiazarova at the Reina Sofia Conservatory in Madrid and by Eldar Nebolsin at the Hanns Eisler Academy of Music in Berlin. In 2015, he won the Paloma O’Shea International Piano Competition in Santander and the Steinway Competition in Berlin. In 2018 he was awarded 1st prize at the Kissingen Piano Olympics.
