American Conductor Joshua Weilerstein (*1987) will begin his tenure as Artistic Director of the Lausanne Chamber Orchestra in the 2015/16 season. His initial contract is for four years and he will conduct a minimum of two subscription concerts, one recording and an international tour per season. Joshua Weilerstein was born in a musical family. A graduate of New England Conservatory, he has appeared as a violin soloist with orchestras around the world and served as the concertmaster of Discovery Ensemble. After winning the 2009 Malko Competition for Young Conductors in Copenhagen, Denmark, he made a fast conducting career.
