The French Orchestre Dijon Bourgogne has announced the reappointment, after a first term, of its principal conductor Joseph Bastian, until 2028.
The French-Swiss conductor Joseph Bastian, 43, is, since September 2023, Bastian Chief Conductor & Artistic Director of the Munich Symphony Orchestra (Münchner Symphoniker), Germany.
Since 2022, Bastian serves as Principal Conductor of the Asian Youth Orchestra, leading and inspiring this premiere ensemble on major annual tours throughout Europe and Asia.
Orchestre Dijon Bourgogne has also a new general manager. A choral conductor, teacher and cultural administrator, Maxime Kaprielian studied musicology and cultural management at the Marseille Conservatoire, and since 2014 has been Musicatreize’s artistic advisor and dissemination manager. He was also publishing director of ResMusica from 2004 to 2014. He succeeds Floriane Cottet, who has held this position since 2016, and is now head of artistic production at Opéra de Rouen-Normandie.
