John Eliot Gardiner

After slapping a singer in the face last year, John Eliot Gardiner, 81, stayed away from the podium for a long time. Now he wants to conduct again. On July 16, he will conduct the Orchester Philharmonique de Radio France in Montpellier, with pianist Piotr Anderszewski as soloist.

In December, he will conduct Charpentier and Bach with the English Baroque Soloists and the Monteverdi Choir at the Philharmonie in Luxembourg, where he will return for a Sibelius program in February 2025, with the Luxembourg Philharmonic. Other concerts are planned in Vienna, Hamburg, Frankfurt and Milan.
