Due to a strike of parts of its employees, Radio France canceled the concert of its Philharmonic Orchestra yesterday evening at the new Philharmonie in Paris. However, the musicians were not on strike and neither was their conductor Myung-Whun Chung. They officially declared that the concert would take place. Yet, the management of the Philharmonie was closer to the management of Radio France than to the musicians and kept the doors of the building closed. But the Orchestra was not to be backed off. The musicians played the concert and they did it in a totally empty hall. How crazy are those people who don’t like music to a degree that they cancel a concert in such conditions? This is so mad that both, the manager of Radio France and the one of the Philharmonie should resign and be transferred in one part of France where no music can ever be played.
