IRCAM and the Orchestre national d’Île-de-France have joined forces to create the Élan Prize, a new international competition for orchestral composition, bringing together Île de créations (the orchestral composition competition created in 2010 by this orchestra) and IRCAM’s ManiFeste Academy. The young composers selected to compete for the Élan Prize will benefit from an exceptional creation support platform combining the know-how of the two structures in orchestral and electronic composition training. They will be guided in their compositional work by both the Orchestra’s musicians and IRCAM’s teams, as well as by guest artists who will join the supervision every year.
