Unter dem Titel Ruta 100 spielt das Patagonia Express Trio – das sind die Brüder Claudio und Oscar Bohorquez, Cello und Violine, und der Pianist Gustavo Beytelmann – ein ganzes Piazzolla-Programm.

Beytelmann war 1977 mit Piazzolla auf Europa-Tournee. Das hat ihn und seine Sicht auf das Werk des argentinischen Komponisten geprägt. Nun hat er sich – ohne Bandoneon – mit einem Geiger und einem Cellisten zusammengetan, um in dieser Form dem Geist des Meisters zu huldigen. Das funktioniert richtig gut, denn schließlich haben auch Brüder Bohorquez den Tango in ihrer Kindheit aufgesaugt,

Tief empfunden, großartig gespielt, auf dieser CD erklingt Piazzollas Musik in schönste Form. Die Interpreten suchen nicht die Eleganz des Tangos, sondern sie offenbaren seine Sinnlichkeit, seine animalisch-rhythmische Hitze, seine erotischen und leidenschaftlichen Kräfte.

Sehr interessant sind auch Beytelmanns eigene Kompositionen sowie das von ihm arrangierte Caravan von Duke Ellington, der hier einen großen Sombrero trägt. Steigen Sie also ein, in den Patagonia Express, er hat nur Wagen Erster Klasse.
