Russian baritone Dmitri Hvorostovsky, 53, has withdrawn from four February performances of Verdi’s Il Trovatore at the Metropolitan Opera in New York because of ongoing treatment for a brain tumour. After a first series of treatment in Summer, he returned in September on stage. Currently he is singing in Tchaikovsky’s Eugene Onegin at London’s Royal Opera through Jan. 2.
