At a time when many radio stations discontinue or downsize their choirs the Croatian national broadcaster is re-establishing the Children’s Choir of Croatian Radiotelevision – a once very successful ensemble that trained numerous young singers and created generations of successful musicians the former Children’s Choir operated as part of RTV Zagreb and later closed down.

Therefore, the establishment of the fifth ensemble of Croatian Radiotelevision, in addition to the Symphony Orchestra, the Choir, the Tambourine Orchestra and the Jazz Orchestra, actually means the renewal of tradition.

The children’s choir of HRT will be made up of children aged 8 to 14. The profession says that this is the age when voices retain their childlike, pure color and tone. The choir will primarily be a three-part a cappella choir, and depending on the program and need, in several voices and with instrumental accompaniment.
