Italian pianist Giovanni Bertolazzi, 24, has been awarded the Tabor Foundation Prize which he shares with 19-year-old Misi Boros from Hugary. This award is part of the Verbier Festival Academy.

Verona born Bertolazzi was the winner of the 2nd Prize and 5 special prizes at the Franz Liszt International Piano Competition in Budapest (2021).

He studied at Conservatorio Marcello in Venice and with Epifanio Comis at the Istituto Superiore di Studi Musicali Vincenzo Bellini in Catania.

He has won more than 40 prizes in international piano competitions, including 1st Prize at the Sigismund Thalberg International Piano Competition in Naples (2018). In June 2019 in Milan, he received the Alkan Prize for Piano Virtuosity.

April 2022 saw the release of his new album, dedicated entirely to the music of Franz Liszt and released by Borgato Collection. The album, recorded on Borgato Grand-Prix 333 piano, was awarded Pizzicato’s Supersonic Award.
