Dieses Album vereint ausdrucksvolle Gesänge der Freude und der Trauer von Barbara Strozzi (1619-1677). Ihre Kompositionen sind von beispielhafter barocker Pracht, einerseits dramatisch und emotionsgeladen, andererseits mystisch und sinnlich.

Dazwischen erklingen Instrumentalstücke vor allem von Alessandro Piccinini (1566-1638). Er komponierte viel für die Laute und entwickelte deren Bauweise weiter, bis er zu dem gelangte, was er Erzlaute nannte, eine Laute mit vierzehn Chören.

Diese Musik wird vom Duo Cor Barocco wunderbar ausdrucksvoll interpretiert. Die klare, präzise und dennoch warme Stimme von Micol Pisano erhellt diese Produktion mit ihrer lebendigen und belebenden Ausstrahlung. Francesca Torelli ist ihr eine hilfreiche Partnerin, die ihr einen zarten und einfühlsamen Rahmen bietet.

This album brings together expressive songs of joy and sorrow by Barbara Strozzi (1619-1677). Her compositions are examples of Baroque splendor, dramatic and emotionally charged on the one hand, mystical and sensual on the other.

In between, instrumental pieces are performed, mainly by Alessandro Piccinini (1566-1638). He composed extensively for the lute and further developed its construction until he arrived at what he called the archlute, a lute with fourteen courses.

This music is interpreted with wonderful expressiveness by the Duo Cor Barocco. Micol Pisano’s clear, precise, yet warm voice illuminates this production with her lively and invigorating charisma. Francesca Torelli is a helpful partner, providing her with a delicate and sensitive framework.
