Since 2011, the Fundacion Ibanez Atkinson (FIA), based in Santiago, Chile, has supported the holistic development of people through its educational programs focused on three areas of study: music, the environment, and reading. The FIA’s newest program is Audiciones FIA, a first of its kind endeavor with the goal of connecting Latin American lyric talents with the international opera scene.

Audiciones FIA will create a central, localized opportunity for artists to be heard and guided by these industry leaders, rather than them individually taking on the tremendous financial burden of coordinating international travel, auditions, and logistics themselves. This effort will create a bridge between Latin America and the entire world of opera, bringing emerging singers together with casting directors from opera houses and festivals, as well as competition panelists, agents, and vocal and language coaches.

The international adjudicating panel will include representatives from The Metropolitan Opera, the Royal Opera House – Covent Garden, The Dallas Opera, and Theater Erfurt (theater list subject to change), as well as Andres Rodriguez-Spoerer (FIA Artistic Director) and David Blackburn (NYIOP).

Singers must register at www.audicionesfia.com by September 20 at 23:59 CLT.
