Florida Grand Opera (FGO) has announced the appointment of Spanish conductor Pablo Mielgo as Music Director. Since 2014, Mielgo (*1976 in Madrid) has served as Music Director of the Balearic Symphony Orchestra in Spain, where he is preparing to inaugurate Caja de Música—one of Europe’s most technologically advanced and versatile concert halls.
As Music Director, Mielgo will recruit orchestra musicians, define the orchestra’s artistic identity, and integrate it into FGO’s core productions. The launch of this resident orchestra will enhance the company’s musical cohesion.
