Théâtre des Bouffes du Nord Paris

For the third edition of its Paris festival (29 May – 05 June), the Palazzetto Bru Zane (Centre de musique romantique française) turns the spotlight on George Onslow, thus closing the cycle dedicated to him throughout spring 2015. String quartet, piano trio and cello sonata will reveal different facets of the composer, alongside works by his contemporaries Chopin and Alkan or essential compositions by Saint-Saëns and Debussy. A recital will be devoted to that Romantic instrument par excellence, the harp, with the works that brought it great acclaim at the dawn of the twentieth century.

PBZfestival_parigiFor lovers of vocal works, a delightful musical comedy on the subject of French gastronomy will give pride of place to French operetta, with excerpts from works by Offenbach, Hervé, Audran and Lecocq, along with popular songs. Finally, the Palazzetto Bru Zane will leave the Théâtre des Bouffes du Nord for Versailles and an evening devoted to the amazing Uthal, an opera by Méhul, conducted by Christophe Rousset.
