Erik Satie (1866-1925) charakterisierte seine Musik selbst als sehr einfach. Dass sie nicht banal ist, zeigt Denis Pascal auf dieser CD.
Das Spiel des Interpreten ist abwechslungsreich, sensibel, sein Anschlag ist fein und differenziert. Pascals Interpretationen haben die richtige Subtilität, die richtige Zartheit und Poesie sowie den Humor, aus dem diese Kompositionen ihr Leben ziehen. Eine ganz liebenswerte Platte, die man wirklich genießen kann, am besten ohne Choucroute, denn das wäre Satie-Blasphemie.
Erik Satie (1866-1925) characterized his music himself as very simple. Denis Pascal shows on this CD that it is not banal.
The performer’s playing is varied, sensitive, his touch is fine and differentiated. Pascal’s interpretations have the right subtlety, the right tenderness and poetry, as well as the humor from which these compositions draw their life. A quite endearing recording that can really be enjoyed, preferably without Choucroute, because that would be Satie blasphemy.
