Der britische Gitarrist und Komponist John Duarte (1919-2004), der seinen Namen mit einem rechtsextremistischen MAGA-Politiker aus den USA teilen muss, komponierte eine romantisch gefärbte, melodische Musik, die in diesen Interpretationen vollauf entzückend wird.
In einem gewissen Sinn ist die Musik anachronistisch, denn sie huldigt neobarocken, neoklassischen und neoromantischen Idealen und bleibt meistens in lyrischen Rahmen; manchmal wird sie etwas rhythmischer und ist durchwegs unbeschwert, hin und wieder mit etwas nostalgischen oder auch melancholischen Tönen.
Die beiden italienischen Gitarristen und der italienische Dirigent Zampieri bringen Duartes Kompositionen mit einem sicheren Gespür für diese Musik expressiv zu Gehör.
The British guitarist and composer John Duarte (1919-2004), who must share his name with a right-wing extremist MAGA politician from the USA, composed a romantically tinged melodic music that becomes fully delightful in these interpretations.
In a certain sense, the music is anachronistic, paying homage to neo-baroque, neo-classical and neo-romantic ideals and it is mostly lyrical; sometimes it becomes a bit more rhythmic and is light-hearted throughout, now and then with some nostalgic or even melancholic tones.
With a sure feeling for this music the two Italian guitarists and the Italian conductor Zampieri perform Duarte’s compositions expressively and lively.
