Eckart Preu
German conductor Eckart Preu, 48, was named music director of the Portland Symphony Orchestra. Preu will join the Maine-based orchestra, beginning with the 2019-20 season, succeeding Robert Moody, who conducted the orchestra for ten years.
Eckart Preu is still Music Director of the Spokane Symphony until the end of the 2018-19 season. He is also music director of the Long Beach Symphony Orchestra in California and the Cincinnati Chamber Orchestra.
