On January 27, conductor Charles Dutoit and his former wife Martha Argerich have been expelled by the police from the Ravel Museum in Montfort (50 km west of Paris) where the composer lived from 1921 until his death in 1937.
In this house he composed his Boléro, the Concerto for the left hand L’Enfant et les Sortilèges. The police action was reported by French newspaper Le Figaro who also wrote that, meanwhile, the museum has been closed. Apparently the expulsion took place after the most famous musicians shot photos inside the museum. It looks like somebody thought a burglary was going on and didn’t know neither Dutoit nor Argerich. According to Le Figaro the mayor is worried about the disappearance of movable property and documents from the museum.
