French cultural manager Dominique Meyer, 70, former Superintendent of La Scala, has been elected president of the Teatro Sociale di Como (Italy) has a new president.
An economist and cultural manager, Dominique Meyer was until two months ago Superintendent and Artistic Director of the Teatro alla Scala in Milan and previously Superintendent at the Wiener Staatsoper, Théâtre des Champs-Élysées in Paris and General Director of the Opéra National de Paris.
He is currently Executive Director of the Lausanne Chamber Orchestra, and now also President of the Teatro Sociale di Como.
Always close to the Teatro Sociale, he has been a member of the AsLiCo International Competition Commission for young opera singers for 30 years, which he has chaired for the past 11 years.
