American pianist Peter Serkin, 72, died Saturday at home in Red Hook, N.Y. of pancreatic cancer, his manager said. Peter Serkin’s musical legacy extends to his grandfather, the distinguished violinist Adolf Busch.  Serkin is the son of the distinguished pianist Rudolf Serkin. Peter has performed with the world’s major symphony orchestras. He was a thought after partner for numerous chamber musicians and taught at Bard College Conservatory of Music.
