Dayner Tafur-Diaz

The International Opera Conductors’ Competition in Liège (Belgium) has announced the winners of this year’s edition. First Prize was awarded to Dayner Tafur Diaz (Peru, *1998). Dayner Tafur-Díaz studied trumpet and piano in his native country, then moved on to conducting, which he studied at the Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst in Stuttgart from 2019. He currently lives in Germany.

Giulio Cilona (United States / Belgium, *1995) won Second Prize and the Third Prize went to Luis Toro Araya (Chile, *1995).
