Early music ensemble Le Banquet Céleste has announced Damien Guillon’s decision to step down as artistic director in spring 2024.
The press release says: « Since the ensemble’s creation in 2009, Damien Guillon has built a singular artistic adventure in the landscape of independent ensembles. Over these fifteen years, drawing on his wealth of musical experience, he has succeeded in uniting a generation of instrumentalists and singers around an artistic project that is both demanding and profoundly human. »
In the same spirit, starting with the 2024-2025 season, Le Banquet Céleste aims to offer an innovative experience in the artistic field of Baroque music. Artistic direction will be collective, embodied by a team of musicians who have been loyal to the ensemble since its inception.
