Kein Licht (No Light) is the title of a new contemporary opera uniting Austrian Nobel Prize winner Elfriede Jelinek, French composer Philippe Manoury and German stage director Nicolas. The music will be played by Luxembourg’s Lucilin Ensemble.
The opera will be a coproduction of Opéra Comique Paris, Ruhrtriennale, Berliner Festspiele, Théâtres de la Ville de Luxembourg, the Croatian National Theatre, Festival Musica Strasbourg and Ircam.
Kein Licht will be something between an opéra-comique and a Singspiel.
From the 700 000€ that the project will cost, Opéra Comique will support more than 50%. Therefore, the Parisian company initiated a fund raising campaign that should bring 15% of their part, or 50 000€. Sponsors are welcome on www.culture-time.com.
