The City of London announced that the planned £288m concert hall will not be built. “Members of the City of London Corporation’s policy and resources today agreed that, given the current unprecedented circumstances, plans for a centre for music will not be progressed,” a spokesperson said.

The center was due to become an outstanding 2,000-seat concert hall for the London Symphony Orchestra (LSO) and would have had restaurants, commercial space, plus a smaller venue. The New York-based architects Diller Scofidio + Renfro had designed the center.
