At the first China International Music Competition in Beijing, Tony Siqi Yun, an 18-year-old Canadian, won First Prize – worth $150,000 plus management by Opus 3 in the US and Europe, and Armstrong Music and Arts in China. Second Prize ($75,000) went to the 17-year-old Russian Alexander Malofeev while Third Prize ($30,000) went to the 24-year-old American MacKenzie Melemed.
