Energetische Virtuosität und intime Zärtlichkeit charakterisieren Zee Zees Interpretation des Ersten Klavierkonzerts von Franz Liszt. Das Zweite hatte sie vor sechs Jahren mit denselben Partnern für Deutsche Grammophon aufgenommen.

Ihr gestochen scharfes und spontan-wendiges Spiel und eine demonstrative Expressivität passen gut zu Liszt und werden von Järvi geteilt. Mit den Philharmonia-Musikern holt Järvi alles aus der Musik, was sie an Effektmöglichkeiten bietet.

So kommt es zu einem spielerischen Geben und Nehmen, das diese Interpretation ganz besonders brillant und attraktiv werden lässt.

Und welchen Grad an technischer Meisterschaft Zee Zee (eigentlich Zuo Zhang) hat, das zeigt sie stupend in Franz Liszts Rhapsodie espagnole. Sie fasziniert uns mit einem Spiel aus Licht und Schatten, aus Spannung und Entspannung, auch aus Farben, Dynamik und Farbgebung, kurzum von einer solchen Ausdrucksgewalt, dass man aus dem Staunen nicht heraus kommt.

Zee Zee’s interpretation of Franz Liszt’s First Piano Concerto is characterized by energetic virtuosity and intimate tenderness. She recorded the Second with the same partners for Deutsche Grammophon six years ago.

Her razor-sharp and spontaneously agile playing and demonstrative expressivity suit Liszt well and are shared by Järvi. Working with the Philharmonia musicians, Järvi draws out all the effects that the music has to offer.

The result is a playful interplay that makes this interpretation particularly brilliant and appealing.

The degree of technical mastery that Zee Zee (actually Zuo Zhang) possesses is stupendously demonstrated in Franz Liszt’s Rhapsodie espagnole. She captivates us with her interplay of light and shade, tension and relaxation, and her use of color and dynamics. In short, her expressive power is so impressive that it leaves you in awe.
