Thanks to donations, the Brighton Philharmonic Orchestra is saved. £72,700 have been raised in an urgent appeal running from 5th – 17th August, to save the Orchestra and allow the 2013/14 season to commence in October.

Barry Wordsworth, the Music Director of the Orchestra, has this message to those who have donated: « The support you have given to the Brighton Philharmonic Orchestra is the greatest display of trust I can imagine.  It will inspire all of us with a new enthusiasm and dedication for our work in general, and our performances here in Brighton, in particular.  This is an important achievement not only for the Philharmonic, but I believe will also be recognised as a matter of civic pride, as it preserves an important part of the character of this great city. »
