Boris Mesdritsch who has fired at the Opera of Novosibirsk following a scandal over a Tannhäuser production, must have influential enemies. Politicians in St. Petersburg had proposed to offer him a position in one of the theatres of the city, and it was announced he would become Executive Director of the Theatre at the Foundry where he was supposed to be the successor to Andrey Lobanov, who was fired after the financial audit of the activities of the institution. Later this information was denied. Mesdritsch’s friends suppose that, again, the Orthodox Church has influenced the decision. Members of the local parliament now ask that a commission should investigate the case.
