Der katalanische Cellist Roger Morelló Ros präsentiert seine erste Solo-CD. Unter dem Motto The Voice of Casals stellt er eine Verbindung her zu seinem weltberühmten katalanischen Landsmann, der angeblich für ihn Vorbild, Anregung und Verpflichtung in einem darstellt.
Drei Solosarabanden von Johann Sebastian Bach, Musik von Gaspar Cassado und El cant dels ocells (Der Gesang der Vögel) werden mit zwei neuen Auftragskompositionen von Marc Migó (*1993) und Elisenda Fábregas (*1955) ergänzt.
Morelló Ros beeindruckt mit einem fülligen, warmen und edlen, immer voll durchgeistigten, unendlich flexiblen, lupenrein intonierten Celloklang, dessen betörender Wohlklang ihn wirklich auszeichnet. Der Katalane hat sich die sehr unterschiedlichen Stücke total einverleibt und spielt sie mit einer packenden interpretatorischen Kraft, die nie extrovertiert wirkt und den Hörer mit einem ehrlichen und tief empfundenen Diskurs konfrontiert, dem man gerne zuhört.

Three solo sarabands by Johann Sebastian Bach, music by Gaspar Cassado and El cant dels ocells (The Song of the Birds) are complemented by two newly commissioned compositions by Marc Migó (*1993) and Elisenda Fábregas (*1955).
Morelló Ros impresses with a full-bodied, warm and noble cello sound, always full of spirit, infinitely flexible, flawlessly intoned, whose beguiling beautiful sound really sets him apart. The Catalan has totally absorbed the very different pieces and plays them with a gripping interpretive power that never seems extroverted and confronts the listener with an honest and deeply felt discourse that is a pleasure to listen to.
