While checking the use of the funding offered by the Government of the Russian Federation for the Tchaikovsky Competition 2015, the Court of Auditors in Moscow found financial violations totalling 88.5 million rubles (€ 1,3 mio). The report also speaks about corruption risks during the selection as well as about a general lack of transparency in financial operations. It is likely that the Competition, whose chairman is Valery Gergiev, will have to return money to the State.
