On Thursday, 5 October 2023, the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra will give two concerts with music by French composers under the direction of honorary guest conductor Iván Fischer. For these ‘Inside Out’ concerts, the orchestra members sit in the centre of the Main Hall, grouped around the conductor, with a large part of the audience interspersed among them, others sitting in a circle around the orchestra. Thus, the audience will experience orchestral music from inside. In February 2023, the orchestra’s first Inside Out concert with Iván Fischer was extremely successful.
