Qingzhu Weng

Qingzhu Weng (*2001) from China has been awarded First Prize at this year’s Mirecourt International Violin Competition, in Mirecourt, France. In 2018, Qingzhu Weng won First Prize at the Ysaÿe International Music Competition in Liège. He is a former prize winner at the Tibor Junior International Violin Competition and he is currently studying at the Hochschule for Musik, Theater und Medien, Hannover.

Gawon Kim from South Korea and Victoria Wong from Australia won Second and Third prizes. The Fourth Prize was awarded to Yumiko Yumiba from Japan.

The jury comprised Martin Beaver, Sergey Malov, Jan Repko, Dong-Suk Kang, Marianne Piketty, Marco Rizzi and Irina Muresanu.
