According to the Birmingham Post, leading arts organisations including the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra are facing substantial cuts after a 25 per cent reduction in grant funding was approved by the city council. Birmingham currently spends £6.425 million per year for arts and culture, an amount which will be reduced to £4.85 million from March next year. This follows previous cuts by 17 and 20 per cent.
