Dutch conductor Arie Van Beek, 74, has been appointed Music Director of the Orchestre des Pays de Savoie from September 2025. He will succeed Pieter-Jelle de Boer, who has held the post since September 2021.
Originally trained as a percussionist, before turning to conducting, Arie Van Beek, 74, was Music Director of the Orchestre National d’Auvergne (1994-2010), then of the Orchestre de Picardie (2011-2022) and the Geneva Chamber Orchestra (2013-2022). He is also permanent conductor of the Doelen Ensemble in Rotterdam.
