The Advisory Board of the Fondazione Arena di Verona under the chairmanship of the Mayor Flavio Tosi, has decided to liquidate the foundation. This is the most dreaded response after the approximately 300 employees, musicians, dancers, technicians and administrative staff rejected the labor agreement in a referendum – although with only two votes difference, 132 against 130 -. Now all the employees will be dismissed and the Mayor intends to create a new entity to run the Arena, under new conditions. The operation reminds the one which was planned by the city of Rome for their opera house… In any case, Tosi said, that the next opera season is not at risk.
