Antony Hermus

Dutch conductor Antony Hermus (*1973) has been named Music Director of the Belgian National Orchestra from the 2022-2023 season. He will replace Hugh Wolff, principal conductor since 2017, and will be at the helm of the national orchestra for four seasons, the institution said Monday in a statement.

Hugh Wolff will begin his final season at the helm of the national orchestra in September and will remain involved as conductor emeritus for two more years.

Antony Hermus held two positions as music director in opera houses in Germany (Hagen & Dessau) at the beginning of his career. He has conducted numerous orchestras in the Netherlands, such as the Rotterdams Philharmonisch Orkest and the Koninklijk Concertgebouworkest, but also throughout Europe and the world.
