The Pablo Casals Foundation has announced its competition call for the Pablo Casals International Award 2020, which provides support for young cellists in their training and technical and artistic development.

The Award is open to aspirants from around the world. The number of prizes and their monetary value have been increased for this 2020 edition, comprising a First Prize of €18,000, an AENA Special Prize of €12,000 and a Third Prize of €6,000. Applicants can register online until the deadline of 13 July 2020.

Created in 1984, the Award will this year be chaired by Marta Casals Istomin. The jury includes Claudio Bohorquez, Henri Demarquette, Gustav Rivinius, Arnau Tomas and Bernard Meillat.
