The Metropolitan Opera in New York refused to dedicate it’s Eugen Onegin premiere to Russian Gays. Now activists are asking such a dedication of this season’s opening night from the San Francisco Opera. Moreover, members of ‘Gays Without Borders’ and ‘BoycottRussianVodka.com’ will be holding a an informational vigil on Friday, September 6 at 7:00 pm at the SF Opera’s Gala with Arrigo Boito’s Mefistofele. Among the performers is out lesbian soprano and activist Patricia Racette, who has also been asked to dedicate her performance to Russian LGBTs. So far, both organizations await a reply from the SF Opera and Racette.
