The La Roque d’Anthéron International Piano Festival has announced that a new artistic director will soon be appointed to replace René Martin, who was dismissed following his resignation from the Créa association he headed.
This organization was the subject of an independent external audit that revealed clear malfunctions in the organization and working conditions, as well as inappropriate behavior on the part of its director.
The press release states: « The Board of Directors deeply regrets the events that led to this situation, while recognizing René Martin’s essential contribution to the creation, development, and remarkable success of the Festival.
The well-being of employees, the prevention of all forms of violence or sexist and sexual harassment, and respect for human values are fundamental and intangible principles for the Festival.
The Board of Directors wished to express its thoughts and gratitude to the Créa teams who have gone through, and are still going through, a very difficult period, while continuing to demonstrate remarkable commitment, competence, and dedication to the smooth running of the Festival and the implementation of its program. »
