Fünf Kantaten von fünf Komponisten, darunter zwei Weltersteinspielungen, das ist das Programm dieses Albums von Philippe Jaroussky. Die beiden Erstaufnahmen stammen von dem Neapolitaner Nicola Porpora (1686-1768) und dem Venezianer Baldassare Galuppi (1706-1785). Obwohl beide Kantaten etwa 35 Jahre auseinander liegen, vertonen sie denselben Text, nämlich La Gelosia von Pietro Metastasio.
Dass Eifersucht nicht nur heftig negative Gefühle beinhaltet, zeigt Jaroussky mit oft berückendem Gesang. Dieses Album gehört vom Darstellerischen her gesehen zum Besten in Jarousskys reicher rund oft herausragender Diskographie. Seine minutiöse Gestaltung und seine vokale Schattierungen und seine Nuancierungskraft erreichen eine optimale Auszahlung und in Verbindung mit seinem ungemein, sicher geführten, wohlklingenden Stimmorgan und dem daraus resultierenden, makellosen, feinstens phrasierten Gesang ergibt das erlesene Interpretationen. Vor allem aber ist die Selbstverständlichkeit mit der er singt, die Natürlichkeit des Vortrags, die Jaroussky auszeichnen. Er steht ganz im Dienste der Musik!
This album by Philippe Jaroussky features five cantatas by five composers, including two world premiere recordings.
The two premiere recordings are of works by the Neapolitan composer Nicola Porpora (1686–1768) and the Venetian composer Baldassare Galuppi (1706–1785). Despite being composed around 35 years apart, the two cantatas set the same text to music: La Gelosia by Pietro Metastasio.
Jaroussky shows that jealousy is not always characterized by violent negative feelings, but can also be expressed through enchanting singing. From a performance point of view, this album is one of the best in Jaroussky’s rich and often outstanding discography. His meticulous shaping, vocal shading and power of nuance achieve optimum results, and in combination with his immensely controlled, melodious voice and flawless, finely phrased singing, they result in exquisite interpretations. Above all, however, it is the naturalness with which he sings and performs that characterizes Jaroussky. He is completely at the service of the music!
