Andres Orozco-Estrada

47-year-old Austrian-Columbian conductor Andrés Orozco-Estrada has been named Music Director of the Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra from the 2026/27 season.

He has guest-conducted the Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra several times and describes the ensemble as “open, honest, and full of energy.” His first project as Music Director will be during the Baltic Sea Festival in 2026, where he will lead the Swedish premiere of a new work by Anders Hillborg.

Orozco-Estrada has been Music Director of RAI’s National Symphony Orchestra in Italy since 2023 and he is General Music Director for the Gürzenich Orchester Köln from the current season.

He has led several prominent orchestras, including the Houston Symphony, and hr-Sinfonieorchester in Frankfurt. He has also served as Music Director of the Vienna Symphony and as Principal Guest Conductor of the London Philharmonic Orchestra. He is also a professor of conducting at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna.
