Das im Jahr 2000 vom Flötisten und Dirigenten Stefano Sabene gegründete Schola Romana Ensemble, führt Musik der Mystikerin, Theologin und Komponistin Hildegard von Bingen (1098–1179) auf. Die Kompositionen stammen aus der Symphonia harmoniae caelestium revelationum und sind hier mit zwei Vokalisten, Psalterium, Symphonia, Becken, Fidel, Schlagzeug, Flöte und Monochord zu hören.

Die Gesänge von Hildegard von Bingen zeichnen sich durch eine für ihre Zeit zukunftsweisende Kunst aus. Es sind Melodien von großer Schönheit, die auf diesem Album in einer rundum wunderbaren Ausleuchtung der Gedankenwelt dieser Mystikerin zu hören sind.

The Schola Romana Ensemble was founded in 2000 by flutist and conductor Stefano Sabene. The ensemble performs music by the mystic, theologian and composer Hildegard von Bingen (1098–1179). Compositions from the Symphonia harmoniae caelestium revelationum can be heard here, performed by two vocalists, psaltery, symphony, cymbals, fiddle, percussion, flute and monochord.
