Der Schweizer Pianisten Christian Chamorel setzt sich auf seinem neuen Album mit drei Mozart-Sonaten sowie der expressiven Fantasie in C-Moll KV 475 auseinander.

Chamorel vermeidet jeden Sentimentalismus und auch möglichen Pathos. Aber er gestaltet die Musik ungemein rhetorisch, mit einer immer ansprechenden Klangrede. Er durchleuchtet die Werke, und wie unter einem Scanner werden ihre Strukturen aufgedeckt und das Dahinter bloßgelegt. Jeder Notenwert ist feinstens herausgeschält, ohne dass der Gesamtklang zerfallen würde, im Gegenteil.

So ergibt sich ein herausragend klares Klavierspiel, und gerade dieses ermöglicht dem Hörer, das Raffinement und auch die Radikalität der mozartischen Gestaltung zu erfassen.

In his new album, Swiss pianist Christian Chamorel performs three Mozart sonatas and the expressive Fantasy in C minor, K. 475.

Chamorel avoids any sentimentality or potential pathos. Instead, he shapes the music in an immensely rhetorical way with an appealing musical language. He closely examines the works, revealing their structures and exposing what lies beneath as if under a scanner. Each note is finely carved out without disrupting the overall sound – quite the contrary.

The result is exceptionally clear piano playing that allows listeners to appreciate the sophistication and radical nature of Mozart’s compositions.
