Daniel Schnyders Cellokonzert mit Streichorchester ist eine klangliche intimere Fassung des Konzerts für Cello und Symphonieorchester, für das sich Schnyder in der Musik des Mittleren Ostens und Lateinamerikas inspirierte.

Darauf folgt das im ersten Satz rhythmisch swingende, im zweiten elegisch kantable und dann wieder jazzig angehauchte Concerto Populaire.

Es folgen noch fünf kurze Werke, teils sehr cantabile, meist aber rhythmisch mit Anklängen an exotische Musikstile.

Christoph Croisé und alle anderen Mitwirkenden sind engagiert mit technisch exzellentem Musizieren dabei.

Daniel Schnyder’s Cello Concerto with string orchestra is a more intimate version of his Concerto for Cello and Symphony Orchestra. For the latter, Schnyder drew inspiration from Middle Eastern and Latin American music.

Next is the Concerto Populaire, which features a swinging rhythm in the first movement, an elegiac and cantabile style in the second, and then a return to a jazzy feel.

Next are five short pieces, some of which are very cantabile and others rhythmic with echoes of exotic musical styles.

Christoph Croisé and all the other performers are dedicated to creating excellent music from a technical standpoint.
