The Orquesta y Coro RTVE of the Spanish national broadcaster has announced that Alexandre Bloch will be its new chief conductor and Marc Korovitch, its principal guest conductor from the 2026-2027 concert season.
Bloch will succeed Germany’s Christoph König who will conclude in May 2026 his tenure, which began in 2023. Korovitch extends his commitment as chief conductor of the Choir, with a new contract that takes him, together with Alexandre Bloch, until 2029. As principal guest conductor of the Orchestra he will replace Thomas Dausgaard.
Alexandre Bloch (Angers, 1985) won first prize in the Donatella Flick Conducting Competition in 2012 and, since then, has maintained a close relationship with the London Symphony Orchestra. A former principal guest conductor of the Düsseldorfer Symphoniker, he has been one of ADAMI’s emerging talents and a Tanglewood Conducting Fellow, attracting the attention of mentors such as Mariss Jansons, Charles Dutoit, Pierre Boulez, Bernard Haitink, Sir Mark Elder and Esa-Pekka Salonen. He has served as music director of the Orchestre National de Lille from 2016 to 2024,
