Wow! Brilliant Classics hat die wohl größte Sammlung von Klavier-Nocturnes zusammengestellt und damit 11 Alben gefüllt. Die Komponisten kommen aus vielen Ländern und ihre Werke umspannen den Zeitraum von über einem Jahrhundert.
Viele verschiedene bekannte und weniger bekannte Pianisten spielen dieses umfassende Programm. Die Qualität der Interpretationen ist durchwegs hoch.
Das Interessanteste an diesem Unternehmen ist wohl die Entdeckung vieler Nocturnes, die man nicht unbedingt schon gehört hat, und darunter befinden sich einige wirkliche Perlen.
Diese neue Box enthält auch einen Aufsatz von Peter Quantrill, der die Geschichte des Nocturne und seine anhaltende Wirkung auf unsere Zuneigung und Vorstellungskraft umreißt.

The most interesting aspect of this undertaking is probably the discovery of many nocturnes that one has not necessarily heard before, and among them are some real gems.
This new box also includes an essay by Peter Quantrill outlining the history of the Nocturne and its enduring hold on our affections and imaginations.
