Giampaolo Bisanti

Opéra Royal de Wallonie-Liège, under the general and artistic direction of Stefano Pace, announces the reappointment of its Music Director, Giampaolo Bisanti (since the 2022/2023 season) until June 30, 2031.

Born in Milan, 53-year-old Giampaolo Maria Bisanti studied conducting, clarinet, piano and composition at the Conservatory Giuseppe Verdi of his home town graduating with full marks. He was awarded several prizes in international conducting competitions and furthermore studied with Yuri Ahronovitch at the Accademia Chigiana in Siena.

He was General Music Director of the Teatro Petruzzelli in Bari.
