Leonard Slatkin

The Nashville Symphony has named 80-year-old conductor Leonard Slatkin to reprise his position as Music Advisor. Slatkin, who previously served in the same role with the Symphony from 2006-2009 during the opening of the Schermerhorn Symphony Center, will return to Nashville for a three-year period following the departure of Music Director Giancarlo Guerrero after his 16 years tenure.

« Leonard Slatkin’s return is both timely and inspiring,” Alan Valentine, President and CEO of the Nashville Symphony said in a release. “His past leadership helped shape a formative chapter in our history, and we are thrilled to welcome him back during this pivotal time of transition ».
