639 pianists simultaneously played Schubert’s Military March last Saturday in Wuqiang (Hebei province), setting a new world record. Among the 639 who had 666 pianos at their disposal, were pianists from eight countries, teachers, students and music enthusiasts.

The event broke the record of 555 pianos playing simultaneously in Inchon, South Korea in 2007, according to Luo Qiong, the Guinness certification officer. The performance took place during a charity event aimed at helping blind children.
